Brand New Weight Loss Solution Gets to the Source of the Problem

(PRWEB) June 22, 2012

TotalFatLossSolution.com, a new weight loss website, offers fresh insight into the age-old problem of permanent weight loss.

Permanent weight loss has always been the enigma of the industry. The stats here are revealing roughly 95% of those who lose weight on a diet end up putting the weight straight back on again soon after. Very few weight loss solutions work permanently, which is what anyone with weight issues is looking to achieve.

TotalFatLossSolution has been set up to address this problem with a brand new product that gets right to the heart of the problem. The foundation of successful and sustainable weight loss lies in the mind of the dieter, and their actions are dictated by their beliefs a product of their inner subconscious programming.

Weight issues originate in the mind. Unless you address the problem at its core, permanent weight loss will be very difficult to achieve, says creator and founder of TotalFatLossSolution, Toby Edge. Most weight loss solutions only work on a superficial level, and fail to create long term, sustainable results. It is essential that people understand the power of their own subconscious in getting the results they want, and this is something that the weight loss industry generally neglects.

With obesity problems becoming more prevalent, the need for new solutions is crucial. Regular diets and exercise programs, no matter how good they are, fail to address the source of the issue. To solve this epidemic, different measures need to be considered.

TotalFatLossSolution.com is intended to help people achieve permanent weight loss by addressing the problem at its core. Before looking to the superficial solution of dieting and exercise, it is first important to work on the inner subconscious mind. Without doing so, permanent weight loss may never be achievable.

Swimming is good exercise (thats obvious). Swimming is a lifetime sport that benefits the body and the whole person! But what is it that makes swimming good, specifically? That depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Swimming is a healthy activity that can be continued for a lifetime. The health benefits swimming offers are worth the effort it takes to get to the swimming pool, get into your swimsuit, and then get into the pool and swim. If you do not know how to swim, taking swimming lessons or teaching yourself how to swim better are great ways to help you to enjoy fitness swimming. Swimming works practically all of the muscles in the body (if you do a variety of strokes). It can develop a swimmers general strength, cardiovascular fitness and endurance. It does not help with bone densityyou need to weight bearing exercise for thatbut that is about all that is missing from what swimming could do for your fitness.

Why do you swim? For the health benefits to your heart and lungs? For the chance to be with some of your friends at the pool? Because, in your case, running every day hurts? Because you like the feeling of floating and sliding through the water? Or is it something else? If you are looking for a break from the heat of the summer, then a dip in the water is exactly what you need; swimming is a way for you to cool off. It fills a wonderful recreational need for individuals and families, from beach and pool fun to water parks. Maybe you are a runner, training on a regular basis, and want to find an activity that keeps your heart rate up but takes some of the impact stress off of your body. Perhaps you have been doing some other form of land exercise, and now an injury prevents you from putting weight on a knee or ankle. Swimming can help you. Kicking workouts, water aerobics, pool running, or a regular swimming workout can all give you a great exercise session without the weight of your body pounding you with each move.

Regular swimming builds endurance, muscle strength and cardio-vascular fitness. It can serve as a cross-training element to your regular workouts. Before a dryland workout, you can use the pool for a warm-up session. Swimming with increasing effort to gradually increase your heart rate and stimulate your muscle activity is easily accomplished in the water. After a land workout, swimming a few laps can help you cool-down, move blood through your muscles to help them recover, and help you relax as you glide through the water. Spending time in a group workout, whether water aerobics or a masters swim practice, is a great social outlet. Exchanging stories, challenging each other, and sharing in the hard work make swimming with others a rewarding experience. There are other psychological benefit to swimming, if you allow it to occur. Relax and swim with a very low effort. Let your mind wander, focusing on nothing but the rhythm of your stroke. This form of meditation can help you gain a feeling of well-being, leaving your water session refreshed and ready to go on with the rest of your day.

IN THE MIRROR

21/06/2012 Dr Nantapat Supapannachart

Everyone ogles at the lovely bodies seen on TV, in movies and on billboards. Needless to say, this really puts pressure on how one thinks their body should look. A person with ripped abs is probably more satisfied with his or her body image than an individual who is stout, because of the attention one gets. The result of this is that everyone wants to have a six-pack of firm abs.

EVERYONE HAS A SIX-PACK. TRUE OR FALSE?

Most people find it difficult to believe they already have a six-pack. It is true. It's there - you just don't see it, because it's normally covered in fat. Six-packs are in the region below your chest and between your obliques. You need to be around a certain body fat percentage - approximately seven to 11% of fat - for your abdominal muscles to show properly.

ARE SIX-PACKS ONLY ABOUT SEX APPEAL OR DO THEY HAVE HEALTH BENEFITS?

Priority Health: Atkins diet

Desmond writes, What are your thoughts on the Atkins diet? I have heard people have great success but others say it leads to other medical complications?

It must be swimsuit time again! Probably the best time of the year for dieting, and healthier attitudes. It's important to understand how metabolism works, to understand how to lose weight, and become healthier. Unfortunately, many are not looking to be healthier, just skinnier....regardless of the health angle. So, my advice to you all is to think a little deeper, work a little harder, and put your health first, and your bikini/beach body second.

The biggest diet controversy has always been the type of food to eat that will help you lose weight. There have been hundreds of "fads" over the years, but many resurface, or refuse to go away. Any diet that severely restricts your food types and calories will make you lose weight, but will you be able to maintain that weight after stopping the restrictions? I look at diets as a "four letter word". It's not a term you are supposed to use! I would prefer "lifestyle changes" simply because there really is no end to the change. Therefore, any weight you lose will stay off since your goal is not to radically change your behavior for a short period of time (like most diets).

To answer Desmond's question, I did some research on the original Atkins diet, which was introduced in 1972, and revised in 2002. The premise is that a low carb, high protein diet will put the body in ketosis (weight loss by breaking down fat, also known as lipolysis. To do this you have to avoid carbohydrates, to allow the depletion of glucagon, and force the body to break down the fats used as storage in the body. The theory goes that you have to do this in stages to get the maximum benefit.

Stages of Atkins diet:

Induction is where most of the weight is lost, 5-10 pounds a week. During this phase, there are severe restrictions on carbohydrates, but no restriction on total calories taken in by protein or fat. There is a limitation of total fat, with only 20 percent of total calories expected from fat.

Ongoing weight loss, allows the inclusion of carbohydrates while still losing weight. This inclusion of carbs is limited and in stages or "rungs" of a ladder.

Pol headed to prison hopes to lose weight

OXFORD There will be no prison tattoo for Michael A. Fox.

But the former longtime Butler County commissioner and state legislator said he hopes to come out of prison in four years much lighter and healthier.

On Thursday, less than 24 hours before he is to report to the Federal Medical Center correctional institution Lexington, Ky., Fox talked to The Enquirer about heading to prison and the public scandal that put him there.

He still denies doing anything wrong.

My number one goal is to lose weight, said Fox, who has gained 130 pounds since the federal case against him was pending.

The feds are going to be so considerate and nice to me. They are sending me to a fat farm and theyre going to pay for it. I cant afford it. Could you ask for a nicer bunch of people?

Although he was sentenced in March, U.S. District Judge Sandra Beckwith allowed Fox to surrender to prison by Friday so he could recover from a recent full-knee replacement.

Fox lost his bid to serve the four-year sentence on home incarceration. Sentencing was delayed for months as Fox tried to persuade the judge that he was too sick to go to prison because of his morbid obesity and a list of other ailments, including heart and vascular problems.

The 63-year-old Oxford resident, had accepted the prison term in a plea agreement in early 2011. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud involving a $460,000 payment he received from longtime attorney pal Robert C. Schuler in exchange for helping Schulers company secure a $1 million fiber-optics contract with Butler County in 2002.

Fox also pleaded guilty to filing a false tax return. As part of the deal, four charges of public corruption were dismissed involving alleged kickbacks Fox received from businesses to get them county business.

Fitness after 40

Fitness expert and author of Real Life Fitness Carey Long launched his first national advertising campaign in the form of a 30-minute infomercial which began airing in March on ABC and Fox. The spot promotes his fitness program for men and women over 40, encouraging them to take control of their fitness destiny so they may live longer and enjoy a better quality of life.

If you are new to fitness plans, there are lots of them out there - but keep in mind that most of them are geared towards the younger generation, he said. P 90x, Insanity, etc. are great programs, but they are extreme and not for beginners.

Long, a licensed physical therapy assistant (LPTA) and certified personal trainer with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA-CPT), has worked in the fitness industry for more than 20 years. He is currently the PT Director for Spectrums at Southdowns in Baton Rouge.

Early in his career, he focused on a younger demographic - those wanting beach bodies and big muscles. Following the death of his parents, he made a personal and professional shift from focusing on outside appearances to increasing life expectancy.

My mother died at 61, and my father died at 64, from heart complications he said. My main goal was to live past age 64, and that became the focus of my book Real Life Fitness.

Long altered his exercise routine and diet which reshaped his body. He lost 40 lbs., going from a big bodybuilder's physique to one resembling a lean Olympic swimmer.

It's not about being ripped. It's about being fit, healthy and finding the balance between including exercise into your daily routine, eating healthier and accepting some responsibility for your future life.

Once a common thought that after 40 it was too late to get in shape, he said, but science has proven otherwise.

In fact, numerous studies have shown that older people respond very favorably to both strength training and aerobic exercise. Most fitness experts agree that a 15-20 year decrease in biological age can be achieved with simple lifestyle changes. There can be a huge difference between biological age and chronological age.

Long said don't put limits on yourself just because you're over 40. He said your fitness program should be based more on your goals and fitness level than how old you are.

TV fitness trainer took own life

21 June 2012 Last updated at 15:32 ET

A television fitness trainer fell to her death at Beachy Head in Sussex after battling drink, drug and personal problems, an inquest heard.

The body of Angie Dowds, of ITV's weight-loss show The Biggest Loser, was discovered at the bottom of the 535ft (163m) cliff in November 2011.

The Eastbourne inquest was told the 42-year-old sent her girlfriend a phone text saying she was "broken hearted".

Assistant deputy coroner Catherine Palmer recorded a verdict of suicide.

She said she was satisfied that although Ms Dowds, of north London, had alcohol and diazepam in her system, her intention to kill herself was clear.

The inquest heard the trainer, who worked on the programme hosted by Davina McCall from 2005, had previously talked about ending her life.

Her brother, Kevin Dowds, saw her the weekend before her death and said he was shocked by the toll drinking had taken on her health.

He added: "I could see the effect of her drinking but at the same time I felt a sense of optimism that she was going to let go of her career and just get well."

Mr Dowds also said she told him she had "had enough" and "I want to go to God" during a phone call two days before she died.
