Big Ben Shaved & Lost Weight Too? – Busted Coverage

Big Ben shaved

Big Ben has shaved his quarantine terrorist beard and has gone outside of his normal element and has released a hype video showing him (bearded) throwing to Juju at an undisclosed location. On the video that many of you cant see because his Twitter management team has you blocked by some blocking bot that has been deployed over the years, Big Ben is looking skinny, obviously shaven and talking to a woman we presume to be his wife who has to be happy her terrorist-looking husband IS BACK.

What a day for the NFL. It appears were about to get some real action out of these guys now that training facilities are opening up again. You know Roethlisberger, 38, has to like his chances in the AFC North with a rookie in Cincinnati, inconsistent Baker and Lamar about ready to come back to earth. Maybe this is Big Ben trying to do his own Last Dance documentary.

The other big news here is that hes looking awfully skinny for this time of year. Normally hes fat AF right now and sheds the pounds in July like us normal guys who lose lbs. by cutting the grass and tree limbs in the humidity. This guy means business.

Exercise like a boss and lose weight in lockdown with THE best 30-minute road bike workout – T3

'Tis the season for avid cyclists to dust down the best road bike, detach it from a turbo trainer and fish the cycling shoes from the back of the wardrobe, strap on the ol' heart rate monitor maybe use a sterilising wipe on it first, then venture outside. Cycling has never been more popular and it's also a way to get your daily exercise. The good news is, you don't need to be Chris Froome to train like a cycling pro and this workout is a great way to burn the most caloriesin the shortest amount of time, helping with your lockdown weight loss.

Alas, the current global 'situation' means there are restrictions and the open road isnt so, erm, open any more. However the good news is that city streets are emptier than they usually are, and restrictions have been relaxed to just the point where the police are not likely to stop you so let's make the most of every ride.

The bottom line is, professional cyclists dont just crank out a few easy kilometres on their training routes, opting instead to weave interval training techniques, hill climbs and aerobic strengthening exercises into every outing. Don't just think this is about sitting in the saddle for as long as possible either, because a solid on-bike workout can be achieved in as little as 30-45 minutes.

Weve spoken to professional riders, top trainers and even the top nutritionist at Deceuninck-Quickstep for their top advice on squeezing every last ounce out of each ride and recovering afterwards, even if that is just a 30 minute burn around the block.

Based upon the fact that you are likely restricted to the amount of time you can be out on the bike, it is a good idea to warm up before you set off, meaning you dont have to waste valuable bike time spinning the legs into action.

With that in mind, it could be a case of sitting on a turbo trainer or exercise bike for ten minutes prior to leaving, setting the gearing on an easy ratio and spinning the legs at a cadence of 70rpm for two minutes, 80rpm for two minutes and so on, increasing the cadence (but dont go heavy on the resistance) until you hit the 10 minute mark.

If you arent lucky enough to own an indoor cycling solution, try a dynamic warm-up of light leg exercises and stretches. A five-minute routine of jumping jacks, bodyweight squats, high-knee sprints on the spot, bodyweight reverse lunges and side lunges will engage the major muscle groups, elevate the heart rate and get the lungs ready for a workout.Doing this in your skin-tight cycling gear might look a bit silly, but your legs will thank you for it.

Note that most of the following workouts require some sort of timer, which can be found on most good bike computers nowadays, but also come part and parcel of most fitness and smartwatches. You can set the desired intervals up before you head out, to save too much distracting button pushing when out in the saddle.

Tabata Training

"Most people who have read or talked about High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) have probably heard the term "Tabata" thrown around and for a good reason. These super-short efforts (with even shorter rest) kicked off the HIIT craze in the mid 90's thanks to Professor Izumi Tabata," explains Mac Cassin, Head Cycling Physiologist at Wahoo Fitness and indoor training app The Sufferfest and the man responsible for keeping many pro cyclists fit when they can't get outside.

"If you only have 30 minutes to ride a bike outside, and you want to make the most of it, then the HIIT Tabata session is the way to go. The standard Tabata set contains 8 x 20-second maximal efforts, with 10-seconds recovery between, making the entire set last 4-minutes.

Here is how you can fit 3 Tabata sets into a single 30-minute session:

Warm-Up - 7 minutes

Tabata Set - 4 minutes

Recovery - 3 minutes

Tabata Set - 4 minutes

Recovery - 3 minutes

Tabata Set - 4 minutes

Cool-Down - 5 minutes

Try Tabata-style training on the bike to keep up with the pack when lockdown lifts

"If you are new to this sort of effort, you can start with 3 sets of 6 repeats. As you progress, you can slowly build your way up to 3 sets of 12 repeats," Mac explains

All you need to complete this session is a timer or interval counter. Most smart fitness devices have an interval or workout timer mode, and there are plenty of free Tabata apps for smartphones.

If you're worried about the effort you require to output during the Tabata Set, the "pacing" component is "to go all-out for each 20-second effort", according to Mac. "Your pace will naturally drop a nit through each set so don't worry. The other key to pacing this session is to go really, really easy for those 10 seconds between each effort, so don't be surprised if you are coming to a near standstill by the end of the third set!" he adds.

Group rides are off the cards but solo missions are just as good

Flying Intervals

Just like in the local gym class, interval training (more commonly known as HIIT - High Intensity Interval Training or Tabata, as mentioned above) has been incorporated into workouts that require a high calorie burn in a short space of time. Interval training in cycling does much the same thing, while training the body to recover faster between sprints.

This is essential to improve performance when out on the road, during group rides or when racing, as most high octane rides consist of periods of paced tempo cycling and short sprints to catch up with the pack, overtake a rival or simply to get away from traffic during the morning commute.

After successfully warming up (see above), cycle to an area where youve got some room to speed up and slow down. Now, drop the gears into the large front cog and a smaller cog at the rear and pedal hard for 40 seconds. Recover for 20 seconds with some easy spinning and repeat. Do this ten times.

Pedal easy for three-to-five minutes to allow the heart rate to settle and repeat the above for a further ten rounds. Use the 10 minute cycle home to cool down by taking it easy.

Attack Threshold Intervals

Road cycling races will feature periods where teams or individuals have to attack in order to catch up with the competition or put some space between the leaders and the rest of the pack. Your daily cycling might not require this, but threshold training will help you become a faster cyclist and ensure completing longer distances becomes much easier.

After a good ten-to-fifteen minute warm-up, aim to pedal at your maximum threshold for two-to-three minutes, followed by a light recovery pedal for the same amount of time. Pro cyclists will know their max threshold (the wattage they can output over a set period of time) but for most amateurs, this simply needs to be your maximum work rate for the entire allocated period, followed by a very gentle spin or coast.

Repeat the above twice in the early days and try to extend the sets as your muscles and cardiovascular system adapt. Over time, youll be able to pedal all-out for five or more sets, making future periods of exertion much easier to manage.

Avoid the urge to binge on junk food during lockdown

Its very tempting to gorge on M&Ms and trendy pale ales while sobbing in from of The Walking Dead during the nationwide lockdown, but there is a way to keep the pounds off and ensure your body has the right nutrients to build muscle and repair after the intense workouts listed above.

Despite the Tour de France being postponed for now, Marije Jongedijk, Team Nutritionist at pro cycling outfit Deceuninck-QuickStep, is still busy keeping the team in check and on a healthy path. But she found time to divulge some nutritional tips for every keen cyclist to adhere to.

Get your vitamins

Make sure your body has the support it needs by taking plenty of vegetables like cucumber, salad, broccoli and tomatoes onboard, she says.

Its easier to blend these up a soup and have this on hand to add into the diet as a starter to your meal or simply eat as a snack. Also, bingeing on things like blueberries and strawberries is better at a time like this than something particularly fatty, like nuts, Marije adds.

Manage your intake of energy-dense foods

Due to lockdown, most of us are using a lot less energy, with our daily trip to the gym or long cycle out of the question. So When you do eat nutrition that is rich in calories, like olive oil or nuts, try to manage quantity, she says.

In general one tablespoon of olive oil as a dressing or sauce per meal is enough, the same goes for a helping of peanut butter. Try and limit your nut intake to one handful a day and eat these instead of other fatty snacks, she adds.

The Deceuninck-QuickStep team taking on vital nutrients during a training ride

Turn up the volume

Dont panic, you can still eat large bowls of food during this time, but you just have to be more selective with what they are. For example, 600g of skimmed yoghurt has the same amount of protein and calories as just 250g of a fattier rival, Marije divulges.

The same goes for pasta. A wheat penne will leave you feeling fuller for longer over, say, a white spaghetti. Make time for eating and focus on every meal and you will feel more satisfied, she adds.

Try healthier snacking

If you still cant curb that urge to snack, try something that has been designed with sports nutrition in mind. There are loads of shakes to crave a sweet tooth, chocolate bar alternatives, spreads and healthy savoury options, such as jerky. Check out the list below for some great guides.

Arshad Warsi loses 6 kilos in a month with Keto and Intermittent Fasting – Times of India

Even as many of us struggle to stay fit during the lockdown, actor Arshad Warsi has done what all of us hoped to do, i.e. lost weight. The 52-year-old actor has always amused us with his style of acting and comic skills, this time, it's his transformation which has left us stunned. The actor took to social media recently to share how he lost close to 6 kilograms in a month's time, detailing some of the things he did for the same.Adding how much he missed carbs, Arshad tweeted:

"Was on a very strict diet for one month. Zero Carbs, Intermittent, Cardio & weight training, knock off 6 kgs in 30 days, got 4 more to go. This morning I had carbs, AND OMG ITS THE BEST THING IN THE WORLD. Now I have to find another way to get fit Man facepalming"

He also mentioned further details, adding that he spent intensive hours coming up with his own workout routine which involved the treadmill.

One of the tricks Arshad used was combining the Ketogenic diet and Intermittent Fasting together. He even challenged Raveena Tandon to give it a try:

"Intermittent and keto with a special kind of cardio exercise I do on the treadmill, no running.... my invention, will send you a video, try it you'll love it."

The biggest challenge for him? Staying away from his wife Maria Goretti's yummy cooking!

Can you combine Keto and Intermittent Fasting?Even though Keto and Intermittent Fasting are two different plans which come backed with weight-loss promoting results, combining the two diet plans is something a lot of people do to achieve results faster.

While Ketogenic diet is a low carb diet, which limits your carb intake to 20-50 carbs a day, Intermittent Fasting involves stipulated feeding and fasting, which can be done in several formats.

Combining the two diet plans seem like an effective prospect, but only if done correctly. The biggest difference this makes is on your appetite. Since you follow Keto rules while fasting, you restrict the carb intake in your diet, while regulating your protein and fat intake, which make you feel fuller for longer and make the fasting window a little less worrisome. Another benefit is increased fat loss. Because intermittent fasting boosts metabolism by promoting thermogenesis, or heat production, the body may start utilizing stubborn fat stores.

Another pro here is the additional prospect of losing the inches a little faster, which makes it more appealing for those on a mission to lose weight faster.

And, despite the name of this feature, don't fixate on 'belly fat'. It's important to reduce visceral fat, which does tend to lurk around the belly area, but that is best achieved by trying to slim down and tune up overall.

Here are six strategies to help you start losing weight.

The short answer to the question of how to lose belly fat is to burn more calories than you consume on a regular basis. In the fitness world, this is known as achieving a "calorie deficit".

If this sounds like a waking nightmare, there's a trick to it: what you need to do is ensure youre eating the correct kind of food to make sure you feel full and sated, even when consuming fewer calories than you're burning off.

Certain foods are "empty calories" while others release energy slowly, keeping you fuller for longer. This is a big danger, especially while you're at home, with all your food within easy reach.

But before that, you'll need to find a good way to track your calories burned and calories taken in. The free MyFitnessPal app is one of the best ways to record your calorie intake, but to track your calories burned, you'll need a dedicated fitness tracker. If you already own a smartwatch, most will offer calorie tracking as standard, but for those yet to make the plunge, the Fitbit Versa Lite is the best activity tracker you can buy right now. Check out the deal below.

Intermittent fasting is becoming more and more popular. It involves significantly cutting calories or abstaining from food altogether for a portion of the day or week, and then cramming all your calories into a much shorter time window.

The best-known intermittent fasting plan is the 5:2 diet, where you eat as you normally would (although hopefully a bit healthier) for five days a week, then scoff no more than 600 calories two days a week. There are also variants of this diet where you consume almost no calories, two days per week. This is much more doable than it sounds, so long as you are in good general health, but it's not exactly fun.

However, for trainees who are serious but not that serious, there's the 16:8 diet. With this diet you have only 8 hours a day to fit all your meals in, but can only drink water (and maybe some black coffee, if you're feeling naughty) within a 16 hour fasting period outside of those 8 hours. Most choose to eat from 10am to 6pm, but as long as you stay within an eight hour window, you can start and finish at any time of the day. This isHugh Jackman's strategy, so if you have ever wanted to be in Wolverine shape

Why try fasting, though? Well, during the fasting period the body will run out of sugar to run on, and so will start eating up the bodys fat stores. The big negative is the adjustment period: if you're used to a big breakfast or an early dinner, a 16-hour fast feels tough at first, especially if you're exercising. You're going to get seriously cranky.

Dead set on having chips? An air fryer can deliver a lot of the delicious taste with less of the not-quite-so-delicious oil

If you eat fried food all the time, switching to an air fryer will definitely cause you to lose weight unless buying one causes you to start eating loads of chocolate because you've reduced your fat intake. No, it doesn't taste as delicious as proper fried food of course not but it turns out meals with a good fried/roasted taste, but with up to 80% lower fat content.

If you don't eat fried food all the time but like to treat yourself now and then, switching to an air fryer could still help with you to lose weight. Even with a solid balanced diet and a good workout ethic, there will come a time when your willpower will falter and you'll want to fall back on your old favourites, like fried chicken, fish, chips and all the other foods you love normally dripping with grease. If you schedule in cheat days and do this in a controlled way, it's good to know you're cooking these foods in a way that still helps you hit your goals.

Enter the air fryer. The best air fryers are revolutionary pieces of kit that use hot air combined with a teaspoon of oil (as opposed to the gallons of oil found in the deep-fat variety) to cook your crispy favourites. If kitchen space and budget is no object, you can cook a whole chicken in the Philips Airfryer XXL, but if you're after something a little more economical, Pro Breeze Airfryer 1400W is lightweight, versatile and cheaper, perfect for portion control. It also seems to usually be sold out all the time at present, so perhaps everyone has already taken our advice, here.

This is just one way to have your (fried) cake and eat it too. Swapping high-calorie pints of ice cream to the low-calorie versions like Halo Top or Oppo, or switching out cholesterol-laden butter for a healthier olive spread, are other easy ways you can make relatively simple lifestyle choices and still keep weight off.

Weight training is a great way to tip your muscle-fat ratio the right way

There are two main types of exercise: cardio training and weights, otherwise known as resistance training.Although cardio burns a lot of calories while you do it, weight training builds muscle which burns more than fat as you go about your day. The more muscle mass you have, the more calories you'll burn even when not working out.

Resistance training may seem scary if you're doing it for the first time, especially in the gym when the area's dominated by serious lifters, but you dont have to start adding big plates to the bar right now. There's plenty of ways to get started at home with smaller weights such as dumbbells, kettlebells and even medicine balls.

Were not going to list every single lifting exercise, so why not pick the body part you want to start toning up and check out some of our muscle-building how-tos. One you've done that, grab one of the best dumbbell sets on the market. They're not just for arms: you can use a dumbbell to work your core, shoulders, and even your legs with combination movements.

The only issue you will find right now is that most of them are sold out, but this store still has home gym equipment for online delivery. By the time this lockdown ends, you'll be ready for the gym.

If everything for the home gym has sold out which happens a lot lately consider doing bodyweight exercises. If that idea makes you think of muscular men working out in prison, try our guide to the best bodyweight exercises for beginners and ease into it gently. Before you know it you'll be ready for the Navy SEAL workout. None of these require any specialist equipment.

Every time you workout, you should exercise using both steady state (working hard but not at max capacity, such as during brisk jog) and high intensity (going flat out, like sprinting) to torch your abdominal fat.

Steady state or aerobic exercises include cycling, running or uphill hiking. Its a crucial part of losing belly fat because it burns through your fat stores. However, it also uses your sugar stores for energy first, so you need to do steady-state for long enough to use up all that sugar before it eats into your fat reserves.

High intensity workouts use mainly sugar for fuel, so they don't hit the fat right away, but it does help in building muscle, which will help you torch fat even on days you're not exercising. Explosive weight lifting, sprinting and HIIT-friendly exercises like mountain climbers are all great high-intensity exercises.

A good fitness tracker will help you to gauge the intensity of your workout by monitoring your heart rate. For overall fitness trackers, check out the Fitbit Versa Lite above, but for a dedicated running watch, you can't beat the Garmin Forerunner 645, the best on the market right now.

Slimmer Keith wanted to lose weight for his health – and has lost 3st 7lbs during lockdown – Stoke-on-Trent Live

Keen photographer and birdwatcher Keith Clowes decided to shed the pounds for good when he was experiencing different health issues - including varicose ulcers.

Keith - who is retired, but previously worked for JCB - had lost weight before with slimming world, but unfortunately piled the pounds back on.

He had also been a yo-yo dieter for many years, trying different weight loss plans in an effort to find something that worked for him.

So when Keith, from Kingsley, stepped back through the Slimming World doors 16 months ago - it was for the final time.

Keith steadily lost 3st 7lbs - going from 21st 2lbs to 17st 9lbs.

He reached his target weight during lockdown in a fantastic week which saw him also gain his three and a half stone award and slimmer of the week.

Speaking about his journey, Keith said: "I was experiencing some health issues and decided that it was about time I got some weight off.

"I knew the ins and outs of the plan from following it before so it was easy to get back into it.

"Since I've lost the weight I haven't had anywhere near as much trouble with my health and I've got a lot more go in me."

Keith has been enjoying getting out more and loves walking for miles - as well as enjoying his hobbies of photography and birdwatching.

He said: "The journey can be difficult. It took me 16 months to get the weight off this time, but when I've done it before it only took me 22 weeks. But when you lose it slowly, you keep it off.

"I like to go all over the place bird ringing - I've been doing it for over 20 years. My wife and I also love getting out in the carvan and I'm a keen walker too. I started off walking up to one mile before my weight loss and now I've built up to around eight to nine miles."

Keith has been married for 37 years to his wife Janet who is also a Slimming World member. The couple support each other as much as they can.

Keith said: "It makes it a lot easier that we both follow the plan. We can support each other and eat the same healthy meals.

"Our consultant Ange is also brilliant - she keeps us motivated. We've been doing classes on Zoom due to coronavirus and they have been great.

"Everyone can see eachother and you can stay motivated even when you can't physically go to group. Without Zoom, I think a lot of people would be tempted to go off plan."

Keith also praises going to group every single week to motivate yourself - and others - to stay on track.

He said: "We've got a good group. It's strange at first when you join but everyone is so supportive.

"If you don't go to group, it's easy for the weight to start creeping back on. It's important to weigh in regularly and be honest with yourself. I'm a target member now but I will continue to go to group to keep myself on track.

"Going to group is great because it works both ways - you can have help and support from other people, but then you can give them advice too, especially new members."

Keith has been through the Slimming World journey twice and advises that you should 'be true to yourself' if you want to see success.

Keith added: "I think my top tip for anyone wanting to start their journey would be to just keep plodding on. Don't let a gain dishearten you. It happens to everyone and I've had them in my journey.

"You just need to be true to yourself, count your syns and don't go over them. If you do, you won't lose.

"You can have anything as long as you are counting your syns and staying within them. It's a lifestyle change, not a diet."

Keith attends Angela's Slimming World group at New Springs Church in Bucknall. The group has meetings at the church on Eaves Lane on Monday at 9.30am, 5.30pm and 7.30pm but all classes are now online due to the lockdown.

Classes are currently on Zoom on Mondays at 10am, 6pm and 8pm and membership is half price but free for NHS frontline workers with a blue card. For more information you can contact Angela on 07760878254.

Financials lose weight! 24 stocks have been part of Nifty for past 15 years – Moneycontrol.com

Over the years, sectoral representation in the Nifty50 has undergone a sea of change, in line with changes in the underlying economy. The Financials which have gained weightage since 2005 now seem to be losing their control on the index, Motilal Oswal noted in a report.

While new sectors have evolved, some of the erstwhile dominant sectors have lost their relevance in the new India. Also, the recent correction led by the COVID-19 pandemic has entailed some interesting changes in the Niftys sectoral representations.

Financials have had a dominant run in the last decade; the contribution of BFSI has risen secularly in the Nifty50 from 22.7 percent in December 2009 to 42 percent in December 2019 (+1.9x in 10 years), highlighted the report.

While the share of Private Banks/NBFCs in the index has gone up substantially, that of PSU Banks has declined, which highlights the underlying value migration in favour of private financials.

The recent correction post the COVID-19 crisis has impacted Financials disproportionately given the economy-wide lockdown for the past seven weeks and its potential direct as well as indirect ramifications for loan growth, asset quality, and moratorium impact, highlighted the report.

Financials loss has been the gain of defensives like Consumer, Technology, Pharma, and Telecom. After this correction, BFSIs weight in the Nifty is now at a 3-year low of 33.9 percent, down 810bp (versus December 2019).

Experts are of the view that COVID-19 might change the way businesses are run in the future, and stress in the banking sector might increase which is why other sectors are gaining traction that are likely to perform better.

COVID-19 might change the way business would perform in the next two years. There is significant weightage given to oil & gas, Tech, consumer and telecom sectors as it might get more traction compared to banks and NBFC, as demand is subdued and might take more time to build up, Gaurav Garg, Head of Research at CapitalVia Global Research Limited- Investment Advisor told Moneycontrol.

In my opinion telecom and technology stocks would out-perform amongst its constituent NIFTY-50 peers, he said.

Oil and Gas (O&G) has seen a large increase in weight thanks to the huge outperformance of Reliance Industries. Oil & Gas gained 310 bps since December 2019 and now constitutes 15.6 percent of the Nifty in 2020.

Interestingly, a large part of the rally in Reliance Industries (RIL) has been led by developments in Telecom i.e. Reliance Jio. After the series of investments from multiple entities in Jio Platforms over the last three weeks, the company is now moving toward becoming debt-free. In fact, Reliance Jio now constitutes 50 percent of RILs SOTP.

Technology has seen good interest owing to its defensive nature with strong cash-rich balance sheets while telecom is expected to see the minimum impact of COVID-19. Hence, the sector has seen significant outperformance in the recent correction, added the note.

"The COVID-19 impact has thrown all dynamics out of gear of even the most resilient of sectors, and most of the sectors are grappling to survive this onslaught of colossal financial damage. Hence, investors are advised to go slow in investing, and not rush in all at once," Aamar Deo Singh, Head Advisory, Angel Broking Ltd told Moneycontrol.

"Also, diversification and focus only and only on quality stocks is the need of the hour. Till such time, we do not see a clear cut way out of the present crisis, it would too early to say that we are out of the woods yet," he said.

48 percent of Nifty50 constituents remain unchanged:

As many as 48 percent of Nifty50 constituents or 24 stocks remain unchanged over 15 years. Of these 24, four are from Auto, Oil & Technology, each, two from Private Banks, Consumer, Metals & Healthcare and one each from NBFC, Capital Goods, PSU Banks & Telecom.

Stocks that remain unchanged include Infosys, HCL Tech, ITC, HUL, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, M&M, and Hero MotoCorp, according to Motilal Oswal report.

The combined weight of these 24 stocks declined to 73.9 percent compared to 77.5 percent 15 years ago, but was up from 60.2 percent in December 2007.

In Private Financials, all three stocks HDFC Bank (+8.7%), HDFC (+5.2%) and ICICI Bank (+1.6%) have seen an increase in weights over the last 15 years. Among these 24 stocks, oil & gas has been the biggest loser in terms of weight, and in Consumer, ITC has significantly underperformed HUL and for the first time, HULs weight in the Nifty has overtaken ITC.

Experts feel that these 24 companies are a sectoral leader and could well remain part of the Nifty50 in the near future as well; hence, investors should remain invested in case they hold the stocks.

Most of the high performing giants continue to be onNifty50 list, but I expect some addition from the consumption sector and a few insurance stocks. Half of the constituents ofNifty50 have been there for 15 years and in my opinion, they will continue to be part of it, said Garg of CapitalVia Global Research Limited.
