The study determined that HIIT is a time-efficient strategy to decrease fat-mass deposits including those of visceral fat mass.

Round by round, punch by punch, this 30 minute workout is making champions out of members.

"The atmosphere is super pumped up, you never leave disappointed and you always leave feeling like you got a killer nine round workout," said 9Round member Selena Banderas. "The trainers are awesome, they are always here and motivating you, to push you to be better, they just want to see you make progress."

And with most workouts it's a love, hate, love relationship.

"I can tell you the one I hate most, let's start with that. I hate the jump rope and the one I like the most is the free hanging bag. I can't do it very well but I really love it."

And there are some who have mastered the skill. All fitness levels are welcome.

Each of the nine rounds is three minutes, consisting of high intensity interval workouts.

"We try to make it as fun as possible, kickboxing themed may sound intimidating at first but about 90% of people who sign up have no experience kickboxing," said 9Round area director Chris Rush.

"Nobody has time to spend an hour and a half in the gym everyday. Our philosophy is you are in and out in 30 minutes and you are burning 300 - 600 calories and you are doing a full body workout," Rush said.

While many of us have been struggling with managing our weight during the past few months, one woman reached her target weight during the lockdown after losing ten stone and dropping from a size 22 to a size 10.

Audrey Higgins (37) started her weight loss journey almost three years ago, when she weighed 19 stone, after she noticed she wasnt as active with her daughter as she wanted to be, so she signed up for Slimming World and she now attends the Plaza Hotel group which is run by Christine Byrne.

I had a small child at the time, remembered Audrey. I was raising my daughter on my own and I worried a lot about not being around, because everything is a struggle when youre heavy.

I saw a picture of myself, and I saw that I was taking up the space of two people because of my size.

I looked at it and I thought, I wont be around for long.

The mother-of-one gradually lost the weight, but she said it took her a while to feel the difference that her lifestyle changes were making.

It took me two years and ten months, overall, to lose the ten stone. Its important to remember that its not a race and that youre doing it for yourself.

I found that the slower I lost the weight, the better.

She added: I was so big that I wouldnt have seen two stone off me, I just wouldnt have noticed it.

I didnt feel the difference until I lost four stone.

Audrey said losing the weight didnt feel like a chore, and she never felt like she was on a diet on Slimming World because it gave her many different food options.

27-Year-Old Chinese Man Dies From a 54-Day Water Fast as Prescribed by Qigong Master – Science Times

A 27-year old Chinese man died at a rehabilitation health center after not eating for 54 days. The 'health treatment' of consuming only water for supposedly 70 days was prescribed by his Qigong master, Liu Shanglin.

Qigong is an ancient Chinese health method, more than 5,000 years old, combining rhythmic breathing and mental concentration with slow, graceful movements. As a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is often called Chinese yoga.

Dr. Roger Jahnke, author of 'The Healing Promise of Qi,' said, 'Qigong is not exercise - it is a dynamic meditation. Doing repetitions is not the focus, it is the conscious application of three intentful corrections - lengthen the spine, deepen the breath, clear the mind, or visualize healing.'

The young Chinese man, known by his surname Li, left his home and moved to a private facility to follow the teachings of Liu Shanglin in 2017, shared his family. Li was told to go on a 70-day water fast for his health to improve as he struggled with mental problems.

Water fasting has proved to have clinical effectiveness in rebooting the body. According to Dr. Alan Goldhamer, who supervises therapeutic fasting for his patients, led a study showing the benefits of water-only fasting.

He founded the TrueNorth Health Center in Santa Rosa, California, where their typical fasting regimen included diet, sleep, exercise, and fasting. His water fast study focused on patients with hypertension or high blood pressure.

174 participants had two to three days to pre-fast on fruits and vegetables before transitioning to a water-only fast for about 10 to 11 days. Then, they had a refeeding period of about one week to a low-fat, low-sodium, vegan diet.

Dr. Goldhamer said that water fasts may last from any time between five and 40 days. 'The idea is to fast as briefly as possible, but as long as necessary, to accomplish your desired goals.'

One of his most recent studies this year shows how medically supervised water fasting can potentially stop tumor growth. The study focused on a woman with obesity, hypertension, and inflammation in her kidney and ureter. After a 13-day water fast 11 days of a plant-based diet after, the golf-ball tumor in her stomach shrunk by almost 50%.
