hCGTreatments / Diet Doc hCG Diets & Weight Loss Plans Announces an Individualized hCG Diet Effective at Preventing …

Statistics from the Nation Stroke Association have begun to show that more young people are at risk for strokes than ever before. Contributing factors are often linked to poor diet and obesity. hCGTreatments / Diet Doc hCG Diet & Weight Loss Plans describes how a prescription hCG diet can help people prevent premature disease and particularly prevent strokes by promoting fast weight loss, and designing a vigorous nutrition plan for long term health.

Dalas, TX (PRWEB) October 12, 2012

According to the National Stroke Association, about 80% of all strokes are preventable through improved lifestyle. The NSA states that "certain risk factors can increase chances of a stroke. However, studies show that up to 80 percent of strokes can be prevented by working with a healthcare professional to reduce personal risk." Certain factors that lead to increased risk of premature stroke like high cholesterol and high blood pressure are directly related to being overweight. hCGTreatments / Diet Doc Weight Loss Plans individually designs a weight loss diet to counteract health problems associated with obesity, including fast weight loss on the hCG diet, and a nutrition plan that balances metabolism and blood sugar levels while losing weight, and fosters true long term lifestyle change. The hCG diet works in two very significant ways to improve long-term health, thereby reducing the risk for stroke. First a prescription hCG diet is proven to produce fast weight loss. Diet Doc reveals average weight loss of 1 pound-per-day while on their prescription hCG diet. Secondly, Diet Doc individually tailors a nutrition plan around each client, paying special attention to factors such as age, overall health, weight loss goals, risks for weight related disease, and necessity of weight loss. Diet Doc then utilizes up to 4 different, proven successful diet plans like the Paleo diet, Low-carb diet, Mediterranean diet, Gluten free diet, and many more all combined into one healthy nutrition plan for weight loss and long term health. The result is a diet that is capable of enacting true change and reducing factors for premature diseases like stroke.

hCGTreatments / Diet Doc hCG Diet & Weight Loss Plans reveals an individualized hCG diet to prevent strokes by enabling weight loss and more importantly, reducing individual factors for stroke. The National Stroke Association labeled high blood pressure, high cholesterol, lack of exercise, poor diet, poor circulation, and lack of diabetes control as major contributors to underage strokes. Each of these individual factors is considered before clients enter an hCG diet. Diet Doc's physicians then individualize a nutrition plan for each patient, often conjoining this plan with prescription hCG for safe, healthy, and fast weight loss. The NSA further states that "Excess weight strains the circulatory system. Exercise five times a week. Maintain a diet low in calories, salt, saturated and trans fats and cholesterol. Eat five servings of fruits and vegetables daily." Perhaps the largest link between strokes, especially those labeled as premature, is obesity. Being overweight places a great amount of strain on the body. The heart has to pump harder and faster, forcing blood through constricted capillaries in order to feed excess fat cells, the joints ache under excessive strain, and arteries are clogged with excess cholesterol. Diet Doc Weight Loss offers the only modern day version of the hCG diet. The preventative measures taken by Diet Doc, in order to prevent strokes and other diseases are fast weight loss with prescription hCG, weight loss that carries with it many benefits like allowing the heart to work less, easing joint pain, and reducing the amount of cholesterol consumed. Next, Diet Doc's nutrition plan directly works to foster permanent lifestyle change by introducing dieters to healthier foods; it also works to balance blood sugar levels, increase fiber intake to help clean arteries of cholesterol, and provide a wide range of nutrients not found in burgers and fries. These nutrients can only be found in healthy fruits and vegetables along with lean meat and nutritious supplements.

Researchers Find Long-term Benefits From Healthy Dieting Practices

October 12, 2012

Brett Smith for redOrbit.com Your Universe Online

Dieting can be a long, slow process that can seem hopeless and pointless at times, but a new study from Israeli researchers suggests that certain diets can have long-lasting health benefits even with a partial weight gain.

According to their peer-reviewed letter in the New England Journal of Medicine, the scientists discovered the benefits during a follow-up examination meant to update their 24-month dietary intervention study of moderately obese individuals from four years previous. That study, the workplace-based Dietary Intervention Randomized Controlled Trial (DIRECT), guided participants to one of three weight-loss plans: a low-fat, restricted-calorie diet; a Mediterranean, restricted-calorie diet; or a low-carbohydrate diet without calorie restriction.

Our follow-up subsequent data shows lasting, positive effects of Mediterranean and low-carbohydrate diets six years later, said Dan Schwarzfuchs from the Nuclear Research Center Negev in Dimona, Israel.

The results from their follow-up exams indicate that the lipid profile (lower cholesterol, triglycerides and arteriosclerosis) improved for the long term, despite weight gain in some participants. The study showed that the diets conveyed benefits beyond the dietary period.

Data from trials comparing the effectiveness of weight-loss diets are frequently limited to the intervention period, explained Ben-Gurion University of the Negev professor Iris Shai.

Many exams showed a six-year weight loss that was significantly lower from the baseline metric for those participants that followed the Mediterranean and low-carbohydrate diets. The low-fat dieters show only a slight weight loss.

Four years after the intervention, more than 67 percent of the DIRECT participants had maintained their original assigned diet, 11 percent had switched diets and 22 percent were not dieting at all.

The six-year exams showed the HDL/LDL ratio remained significantly lower only in the low-carbohydrate diet, while triglyceride levels remained significantly lower in the Mediterranean and low-carbohydrate diets. All three diet groups showed total cholesterol levels that remained persistently and significantly lower.

Exercise reduces risk of breast cancer

CINCINNATI - Health & Lifestyle expert Mary Beth Knight knows first hand that exercise can reduce the risk of breast cancer. She has some tips on how exercise can offer some protection from breast cancer.

Mary Beth's notes:

Some studies suggest that exercise can reduce the risk of breast cancer in women and experts believe this is because exercise lowers a woman's ongoing exposure to estrogen, which is believed to contribute to cancer growth.

The interesting thing is that exercise and weight control may work together in preventing breast cancer. Dr. Anne McTiernan, an internist at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, found that the women in her study who exercised the most had a 22 percent decreased risk of breast cancer.

Growing evidence seems to support the benefits of exercise as a possible treatment for cancer. Several studies have examined the relationship between exercise, rehabilitation and quality of life in cancer patients and reported positive findings.

Studies have followed women undergoing breast cancer treatment who added moderate exercise to their treatment regimen. In most studies women exercised at a moderate intensity (60-85 percent of maximal heart rate) for twenty to 30 minutes, three times per week from four to 12 weeks. The exercise programs included bicycle ergometer and walking programs.

These studies have found that overall, exercise had a positive effect on physical and psychological functioning of cancer patients while in treatment. These benefits include the following objective and self-reported findings:

Increased functional capacity and VO2Max

Decreased body fat

Increased lean muscle mass

Therapy, exercise aid in chemo-related menopause

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Younger women who are thrust into menopause because of breast cancer treatment may get some relief from talk therapy and regular exercise, a new study from the Netherlands suggests.

Symptoms including hot flashes and vaginal dryness often come on gradually for women who go through natural menopause, as the body's production of hormones slowly dwindles.

But that's not often the case for women who are diagnosed with breast cancer before menopause and treated with chemotherapy and other potent drugs.

"Oftentimes with women with breast cancer who experience treatment-induced menopause, the symptoms are much more severe than in natural menopause," said Neil Aaronson from The Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam, who worked on the study.

What's more, those women shouldn't take replacement hormones - an effective but controversial treatment for menopause-related symptoms - because they can put them at risk of a cancer recurrence.

For the new study, Aaronson and his colleagues randomly assigned 422 women with breast cancer and treatment-induced menopause to one of four groups.

One group went to six weekly therapy sessions, another consulted with physiotherapists and started tailored exercise programs, a third did both therapy and exercise and the final group was put on a waitlist.

The type of group treatment, known as cognitive behavioral therapy, included relaxation exercises and addressed symptoms as well as body image and sexuality issues.

Six months later, women in the talk therapy, exercise and combined groups reported an improvement in treatment-related symptoms, each gaining about five points on a 73-point scale compared to less than two points among waitlisters.

Women who'd had therapy also said they were bothered less by their hot flashes and night sweats - but had them just as often, according to findings published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.

For the love of you pet: Diet, exercise help your pet lose weight

By John Beck Originally published October 11, 2012 at midnight, updated October 11, 2012 at midnight

It seems like no matter what I do my dog continues to gain weight. I have tried cutting down on the amount of food I feed her and she still looks heavy. She acts like we are starving her to death. I want her and I both to lose some weight as a New Year's resolution. Do you have any suggestions of how to get some pounds off my dog without feeling like I'm mistreating her?

The majority of dogs that enter my practice have at least a little bit of extra weight on them. According to a very popular food company's study, 80 percent of American pets are overweight. There is no magic potion or pill that will fix your pet. Just like in humans, diet and exercise are going to be your best bet. The first step is to really evaluate what your dog is eating every day. A good way to get honest with yourself is to write down everything you feed your pet. Also, have all the other people living or interacting with your pet write down what they are feeding her too. You might think she is only getting two treats a day but that is just from you. What about your spouse or children? Are they all giving treats too?

Picking a diet or low calorie food is your next step. Look at the back of your dog food bag. Feed for the weight you want your dog to be, not the weight your dog currently is. If you feed treats throughout the day, take away some of the regular food you feed to make up for the calories she is getting in her treats.

Eliminating fatty human foods is a must. A cube of cheese might not seem like a lot of extra calories to you, but for your pet it will really add up quickly. A couple of potato chips or the last bite of your hamburger makes a big difference in your pet's diet. You have to remember that 100 extra calories for your 2,000 calorie diet isn't much but 100 extra calories in a dog that has a 600 calorie diet is a lot. If you must feed human foods, unsalted green beans make great treats. Canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix) makes a great additive to the food that increases fiber and makes your pet feel fuller.

Finally, remember that your pet needs to burn off the calories it is consuming. Regular exercise is very important. If you are just starting an exercise program, start slowly. A couple trips around the block or up and down the stairs might be all your pet can handle when you start out. You can increase the amount or time spent exercising as you go along. The same food company has found that regular exercise can extend your pet's life span by a couple of years, not to mention the benefits they get for bone and joint health.

If you are still having problems, please feel free to contact me or your local veterinarian for more tips.

Dr. John Beck has a veterinary practice at Hillcrest Animal Hospital in Victoria. Submit questions to Dr. Beck at drjohnbeck@hotmail.com.

Diet drink consumption increasing

More men and women consume diet drinks, according to government data. Meanwhile, the consumption of sugar in regular soda dropped. (Photo: Mario Tama, Getty Images)

by Nanci Hellmich, USA TODAY Diet drink consumption has increased over the past decade, a trend that reinforces other research showing intake of calories from sugar in regular soda has decreased, government statistics out today show.

"The data suggest that diet drinks may have replaced sugar drinks during this time," says the study's lead author Tala Fakhouri, an epidemiologist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The new diet drink analysis shows that the change in diet drink consumption occurred for both women (up from 18% in 2000 to 21% in 2010) and men (up from 14% to 19% in the same period).

Still, only about 20% of people in the USA consume diet drinks on any given day with the majority (80%) not drinking them, the report finds. Diet drinks included calorie-free and low-calorie versions of soda, fruit drinks, energy drinks, sports drinks and carbonated water. Diet drinks did not include unsweetened teas or coffees or 100% fruit juice.

Meanwhile, the consumption of sugar found in regular soda has dropped from roughly 150 calories a day in 2000 to 91 calories a day in 2008.

But when it comes to calories from all sugary drinks, including sodas, fruit drinks, energy drinks, sports drinks and sweetened bottled waters, males consume an average of 178 calories a day; females consume 103 calories, according to other government data.

Overall, about half of the population, ages 2 and older, consume sugary drinks on any given day. Among boys 2 to 19, 70% consume these types of drinks while 40% of adult women consume them.
