Gelesis Receives Approval to Market PLENITY in Europe as a Weight Loss Treatment – Business Wire

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gelesis, a biotechnology company developing a novel hydrogel platform technology to treat obesity and other chronic diseases related to the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, announced today that it has received approval to market Plenity, a novel weight loss treatment, in Europe. Gelesis received a Conformit Europenne (CE) mark for Plenity as a class III medical device indicated for weight loss in overweight and obese adults with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 25-40 kg/m2, when used in conjunction with diet and exercise.

Seventy percent of the western world is affected by overweight or obesity and there are few non-invasive, non-systemic solutions without major risks, says John Wilding, M.D., FRCP, a clinical researcher Obesity, Diabetes and Endocrinology at the University of Liverpool and the incoming president of the World Obesity Federation. Through my participation in the clinical trial, I saw firsthand the impact Plenity can have. The CE mark will further broaden access to a weight loss option that can impact tens of millions of patients globally.

The CE mark indicates that Plenity has been assessed to meet health and safety standards for products sold within the European Economic Area (EEA), as required by the European Medical Device Directives. Gelesis will now be able to market Plenity throughout the EEA and in other countries that recognize the CE mark.

Obesity is a global public health crisis, and too many individuals have struggled to lose weight on their own, without an effective therapeutic intervention to help them. We believe Plenity is a highly differentiated option for this serious public health issue, said Yishai Zohar, founder and chief executive officer of Gelesis. Receiving the CE mark is an important milestone for the Gelesis team and for our hydrogel technology platform.

Gelesis plans to bring Plenity to the U.S. first, where it is now available by prescription to a limited extent while the company ramps up its commercial operations and inventory for a broad launch in 2021.

About Plenity

Plenity is an oral, non-systemic, superabsorbent hydrogel which has received FDA clearance as an aid in weight management in overweight and obese adults with a BMI of 2540 kg/m2, when used in conjunction with diet and exercise. It is made by cross-linking two naturally derived building blocks, modified cellulose and citric acid, that create a three-dimensional matrix. Plenity particles rapidly absorb water in the stomach and homogenously mix with ingested foods. Rather than forming one large mass, it creates thousands of small individual gel pieces with the elasticity (firmness) of solid plant-based foods (e.g., vegetables) without caloric value. The Plenity hydrogel increases the volume and elasticity of the stomach and small intestine contents and induces a feeling of fullness and satiety. Once it arrives in the large intestine, the hydrogel is partially broken down by enzymes and loses its three-dimensional structure along with most of its absorption capacity. The released water is reabsorbed in the large intestine, and the remaining cellulosic material is eliminated through the bodys natural digestive processes. Plenity is considered a medical device because it achieves its primary intended purpose through mechanical modes of action consistent with mechanobiology constructs. Important Safety Information

For the safe and proper use of PLENITY, refer to the U.S. Instructions for Use or the EU Instructions for Use.

Plenity is currently available in limited supply in the U.S. Additionally, Gelesis is developing its second investigational candidate, Gelesis200, a hydrogel optimized for weight loss and glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes and prediabetes. 12 Best Meal Replacement Shakes And Bars For Weight Loss 2020 – Women’s Health

No matter what kind of nutrition plan you follow, you likely could always use a little more time to whip up a healthy and delicious meal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every. single. day. That's a lot! And you're busy! Luckily, being pressed for time and needing to eat on-the-go doesn't have to mean sabotaging your weight-loss goals with fast food meals or unhealthy, processed snacks: Meal replacement shakes are a great option when you're strapped for time or just don't feel like cooking.

However, be warned: not all shakes are created equal. If you do your research and choose wisely, you can ensure youre still eating healthy on those days when youre busy. Here, a nutritionist explains everything you need to know about meal replacement shakes and how to pick ones that will help you stay on track with your weight loss.

While whole foods are generally the best method for getting necessary nutrients, meal replacement shakes can be a convenient meal option on the go and can be nutritionally healthy too, depending on the shake, says Amanda Nicole, RDN, a registered dietitian in Los Angeles.

When purchasing a meal replacement shake, its important to take into consideration the nutritional content of the shakes, says Nicole. Some shakes can be lacking in essential vitamins and minerals you would get from eating solid food.

Store-bought shakes can also be high in added sugar, artificial sugar, or sugar alcohols. If you consume a shake that is high in sugar, it could make your blood sugar spike and then drop quickly, explains Nicole. This will give you a quick release of energy but make you feel tired shortly after.

Additionally, when you consume a meal that is high in sugar, youll likely feel hungry again shortly afterwards. Sugar alcohols in particular may cause gastrointestinal discomfort such as bloating, diarrhea and gas as well.

And consuming a lot of artificial sweetener can mess with your taste buds over time, making you crave sweeter and sweeter foods, says Nicole. When you become used to a high level of sweetness from artificial sweetener, foods that are naturally more tart in flavor, such as berries, will taste more bitter to you, adds Nicole. Basically, healthy snacks like fruits will be less likely to satisfy your sweets cravings when you're used to the taste of artificial sweeteners.

Rule of thumb: Look for meal replacement shakes that are low in added sugar, sugar alcohols, and artificial sweeteners.

Meal replacement shake can be helpful as part of a weight-loss plan for some people. They can function as a healthy option for when you need something quick, replacing what could have been a less-nutritious pick, like a fast food meal.

They can also help you eat fewer calories during the day by replacing meals that may be higher in calories, while still helping you feel full. However, if a shake doesnt make you feel satisfied (which is likely if has too much sugar and not enough protein), you may reach for more food soon after drinking it, causing you to consume more calories by the end of the day.

A big part of satisfaction from eating is chewing your food and feeling the texture in your mouth, explains Nicole. When you drink your meal, you may be seeking something to munch on soon after."

So if youre looking to lose weight with meal replacement shakes, you should opt for a shake that is high in protein, fiber, and healthy fats to keep you satisfied, and low in sugar to prevent hunger pangs from hitting later. If you consume more sugar than these other nutrients, your body will store it as fat, says Nicole.

Also, you shouldnt replace more than meal per day with a shake. Otherwise, you could become deficient in vitamins and minerals from whole fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and meat, says Nicole.

A meal replacement shake is just that, a single meal replacement, she says. So try to only reach for them when you're really in a pinch.

There isnt a right or wrong time to have a meal replacement shake; it depends on what works best for you.

If you dont have time for breakfast or [you] work through lunch, a shake can be great during those times, she says. It can be a great alternative to breakfast, especially if you dont like to eat first thing in the morning, as breakfast gives your body enough energy to start the day."

If you dont have time for lunch, a shake could give you the energy to make it through the second part of your day, she adds. The time that you consume a shake wont impact your life in any way, and you shouldnt feel like you should sacrifice a meal with friends or family to have a shake.

Opt for a shake that is high in protein, fiber, and healthy fats to keep you satisfied, and low in sugar to prevent hunger pangs from hitting later.

Meal replacement bars are another option if you dont have time for a meal, she adds. You can easily throw them into your purse, backpack, or briefcase. Real food is, again, always a more nutritious choice, but meal replacement bars can be a good substitution when you need it and you get the added satisfaction of crunch and chew, says Nicole.

If youre hungry and wait too long to eat, you could overeat at the next meal you have, so it's better to have a shake or bar than skip a meal, she says Just like with shakes, look for a bar that is high in protein, fiber and healthy fats, low in sugar, and also free of artificial sweeteners and sugar alcohols.

In addition to seeking out shakes and bars that are high in protein, fiber and healthy fats, as well as low in sugar, its key to opt for those that also contain vitamins and minerals, particularly from fruits and vegetables.

All these components give you a balanced meal and keep you feeling full and satisfied for longer, says Nicole. A well-balanced meal shake or bar will include 300 to 400 calories, 15 to 30 grams of protein, 3 or more grams of fiber, and 10 to 15 grams of unsaturated fat.

Good sources of protein are whey, soy, hemp, brown rice and pea protein. Look for natural sugars, such as cane sugar, brown rice syrup or coconut palm sugar, and check the ingredients for good quality, plant-based fat from nuts, seeds, or plant-based oils, suggests Nicole.

One thing to note is that most meal replacement shakes and bars range from 150 to 250 calories. This is more like a snack, so if you're replacing a full meal with one of these lower-calorie options and still feel super hungry, make sure to have additional whole food snacks around this time as well.

This shake is perfect on the go because it doesnt have to be refrigerated until opening. It provides 20 grams of pea protein and is high in fiber, vegan, dairy-free, soy-free, and gluten-free.

This product is excellent if youre following a vegan diet, are celiac, or lactose intolerant, says Nicole. To make it a complete meal and add in some heart-healthy fats, add a handful or cup of almonds.

This shake provides 20 grams of plant-based protein from hemp, pumpkin seed, and pea protein and is blended with spinach, kale, carrots, and organic spirulina.

The shake is a great option for a meal replacement because it has 25 percent of the daily value for 11 vitamins and minerals, and its vegan, soy-free, dairy-free, and gluten-free, says Nicole. Complete this meal by having a half of banana or one slice of whole-wheat bread with a tablespoon of peanut butter.

This shake offers 20 grams of grass-fed milk protein and is vegetarian, gluten-free, soy-free, kosher, and high in calcium.

Complete this meal with an apple and a tablespoon of almond butter to give you enough fiber, carbohydrates, and healthy fats to make it a balanced meal, says Nicole.

This shake provides 20 grams of grass-fed whey and casein milk protein and is low in sugar and high in fiber. Its also lactose-free, free of hormones and antibiotics, gluten-free, soy-free, kosher, and contains no artificial sweeteners or artificial ingredients.

This shake provides 20 grams of protein from peas, pumpkin, and flax seeds and is an excellent choice if you have allergies, says Nicole. OWYN shakes are free of some of the top allergens, including dairy, soy, gluten, egg, peanuts and tree nuts. It also contains a blend of greens from broccoli, spinach, and kale. Complete this meal, like some of the others, by having a banana or one slice of whole-wheat bread with a tablespoon of peanut butter.

This vegan shake gives you 20 grams of pea protein and contains 30 percent of daily recommended values for iron, calcium, phosphorus and potassium, says Nicole. Its also dairy, nut, soy, and lactose-free. Enjoy with a cup of carrots and a serving of hummus.

This shake is a great on-the-go option that doesnt have to be refrigerated. It also has 20 grams of protein from milk and Greek yogurt. Complete this meal with an apple and a tablespoon almond butter to give you enough energy and keep you full, says Nicole.

These bars have great flavor and are perfect for an on-the-go meal replacement. The bar is free of artificial sweeter or sugar alcohols and is high-fiber, gluten-free, kosher, soy-free, and dairy-free.

Enjoy with a serving of turkey jerky, a couple of slices of deli turkey, or a half serving of unsweetened Greek yogurt for extra satiety power.

In addition to containing 20 grams of protein from whey, they only have three ingredients that you can easily recognize, including almonds, honey, and whey protein isolate, plus no fillers, artificial sweeteners, or sugar alcohols. Complete this meal with a serving of vegetables such as carrots, bell pepper slices, and cucumber slices.

Nicole also likes this bar, which is from the same brand but includes a vegan protein source. These bars only have four ingredients including cashew, coconut nectar, pea protein, and lemon extract, and there are no fillers, artificial sweeteners, or sugar alcohols. Complete this meal with a serving of carrots to add more fiber to keep you full and digestive system regular.

This bar has definitely earned perfect in the name because its a complete meal that hits all the food groups, says Nicole. This refrigerated bar provides an adequate amount of protein, carbohydrates, healthy fats, and fiber and is made with whole foods from fruits, vegetables, seeds, and oil, offering essential vitamins and minerals.

Since the bar has enough calories, there is no need to add any other food to make this work as a complete meal, says Nicole.

This bar only has five ingredients, including real peanut butter, peanut flour, grass-fed whey protein, brown rice syrup, and grape juice extract. Its also gluten-free, with no artificial sweeteners, no sugar alcohols, and no soy. Make this more filling by adding a hard-boiled egg, says Nicole.

Safety of sugar substitutes remains inconclusive | Health – The Union Leader

On a June day in 1878, Constantin Fahlberg, a research chemist conducting experiments in a Johns Hopkins University lab, sat down to eat, bit into a roll some accounts say it was bread and found it amazingly sweet.

Because he had forgotten to first wash his hands, he assumed something hed touched in the lab had contaminated his food. He searched his workspace, tasting vials, beakers and dishes until he found it. A beaker had boiled over, mixing o-sulfobenzoic acid with phosphorus (V) chloride and ammonia.

The result was benzoic sulfimide or, as we know it today, saccharin.

Fahlbergs discovery ushered in a burgeoning new industry that promised hope for millions struggling to lose weight, and for people with diabetes who needed to control their blood sugar.

Saccharin provided the sweetness they craved, but without the sugar or calories. Other sugar substitutes followed, including more than a half-dozen products approved by the Food and Drug Administration. (The use of sugar alcohols such as sorbitol and xylitol also sweet, but which contain about half the calories as sugar also became popular.)

Yet, if something seems too good to be true, maybe it is.

In recent years, studies have questioned the safety of sugar substitutes collectively called artificial sweeteners, although some come from natural substances and whether consuming them helps or harms the body.

The research still is inconclusive. Even saccharin came under scrutiny during the 1970s after research suggested it might cause bladder cancer in rats, and the government attempted to ban it. Subsequent studies, however, could not prove the link in humans, and saccharin remains on the market.

Because of the ongoing confusion, experts suggest consumers use them with caution.

I advise my patients to use them sparingly because we do not fully understand the scope of their impact on our bodies and our health, says Jessica Murgueytio, a dietitian in Bethesda, Md. I tell them to use them in moderation, so they dont get used to consuming sweet foods in excessive quantities. The poison is most likely in the dose, so while a pack of Stevia in your coffee should be OK, I would suggest not having a large amount of diet soda routinely.

Donald D. Hensrud, associate professor of preventive medicine and nutrition at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, suggests that the first goal for consumers should be to try to avoid the real thing sugar as much as they can.

Sugars should be restricted in the diet as they are a quadruple whammy, he says. They provide extra calories, do not provide any nutritional value, have direct adverse effects on health for example, dental cavities, inflammation and heart disease and displace other nutrients and foods that are more beneficial, such as drinking milk.

Nevertheless, sugar substitutes might be useful for weight loss when used in an overall weight loss plan, he says, noting that consumers save about 150 calories by drinking a diet soda instead of a sugar-sweetened one.

However, if used less rigorously, for example, as part of a meal that includes a double cheeseburger, a large order of fries and a diet soda, it probably will not be of much help, he adds.

The American Diabetes Association says that these products can be great alternatives to sugar for some people, saying that they could improve blood sugar, weight, and cardiovascular and metabolic health.

However, the group also warns that definitive evidence is still lacking over their long-term benefits. Using them doesnt make an unhealthy choice healthy, the organization adds. It just means its less unhealthy.

Studies raise doubts over whether they have an impact on weight loss, including some that suggest they actually may contribute to weight gain. One study, in fact, found there were differences among four sweeteners in how much weight was gained.

A 2009 study found a relationship between drinking diet sodas and developing metabolic syndrome, a cluster of symptoms, including hypertension, high blood sugar, excess body fat around the waist and abnormal cholesterol or triglyceride levels, all of which raise the chances for type 2 diabetes, stroke and heart disease. Other research indicates artificial sweeteners may alter gut microbes and, in doing so, actually contribute to developing diabetes and other diseases.

How do nonnutritive sweeteners increase body weight when they have no calories? One working idea is that they trick the brain into craving other sources of simple sugars, thus increasing overall caloric intake, experts say. Another theory, experts say, is that they alter the microbiome intestinal bacteria in ways that promote glucose intolerance, which results in higher than normal blood sugar levels.

Although some clinical studies report they help in decreasing overall calorie intake, the studies may not reflect reality, Hensrud says. In real world situations, other mechanisms emerge that promote increased calorie intake from other foods, he says.

At least one study suggests that problems caused by sweeteners could be the result of their being consumed in combination with other foods, namely carbohydrates such as pasta, rice, french fries and snack foods.

Dana Small, director of the modern diet and physiology research center at Yale University, found that drinking diet sodas with carbohydrates changes how the body reacts to insulin, and reduces the brains response to sweet taste.

We think whats happening is that the presence of the artificial sweetener causes the carbohydrate to be mishandled in some way that changes how the brain responds to sugar, she says. She did find, however, that drinking an artificially sweetened beverage in small quantities by itself wasnt harmful. So go ahead and have your diet drink in moderation, but dont do it when you are eating lunch, she says.

Although a diet soda has neither sugar nor calories, while a can of regular soda has both, consumers would be far better off avoiding sodas entirely, if they can. The best candidate may not be new or exciting, but it is effective plain old water, Hensrud says.

Sirtfood diet became popular after a book on the same was released by pharmacist Aidan Goggins and nutritionist Glen Matten, in 2016. I’ve Lost 15 Pounds on the Noom Diet App, and Here’s What I Eat in a Day – MSN Money

POPSUGAR Photography / Matthew Kelly / Claudia Totir I've Lost 15 Pounds on the Noom Diet App, and Here's What I Eat in a Day

Editors note: The opinions in this article are the authors, as published by our content partner, and do not necessarily represent the views of Microsoft News or Microsoft. MSN Health Voices features first-person essays and stories from diverse points of view. Click here to see more Voices content from MSN Lifestyle, Health, Travel and Food.

I'm a fitness editor, and I live a pretty healthy lifestyle - I exercise five to six days a week, eat a whole-foods-based diet, and get at least seven hours of sleep a night - but in January of this year, I found my weight creeping up on the higher end of what I find comfortable. I've struggled to keep weight off my whole life, and thanks to my bipolar II medication, general stress, and love of happy hour, this has only gotten harder as I've gotten older.

I also have PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), which means I need to be careful with my weight: women with PCOS are more likely to develop type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance (and women with PCOS have a harder time losing weight, which makes this all a fun cycle).

All of that being said: I wanted to check out the Noom weight-loss app to see if it could help me shed some pounds and get back on track with a healthy lifestyle. Created with the help of registered dietitians and other experts, the Noom app aims to not only help you lose weight, but also change your behaviors and reevaluate the thought processes behind the decisions you make. Each day includes new articles on topics such as portion control, staying motivated, identifying your social triggers, and how to decode a restaurant menu.

Noom also includes a daily calorie target, which adjusts based on how much activity you got that day (you manually log your exercise or sync up to your Fitbit or Apple Watch). One of my favorite features of Noom is the comprehensive food log where you type in what you ate and track your daily calories. If your food isn't in Noom's database, you can manually add the nutrition information. It also provides a color-coded breakdown of your food based on how calorie-dense they are: green (fruits, veggies, most whole grains, complex carbs), yellow (lean meats, starches, eggs), and red (typically processed junk food but also healthy calorie-dense foods like oils and nuts). You are supposed to aim to eat as many green and yellow foods as possible and limit your red foods to 25 percent or less of your diet.

The biggest adjustment for me was keeping track of everything I ate. Sure, I eat a pretty well-balanced diet, but I'm often tempted by treats in the work kitchen or all of the tasty snacks sent to my office. After hours, it's easy for me to let one glass of wine turn to three and get carried away with the free chips and salsa. Signing up for Noom really helped me figure out where I tend to overeat and track the true size of a healthy portion: 1/4 cup of almonds is a good-sized snack. Half a bag is not.

UP NEXT

After four months on Noom, I'm down 15 pounds! Not as fast as I would have liked, but I do realize that slow and steady wins the race. I didn't do anything radical aside from read the Noom articles, log my food, work out, and pay attention to my daily calorie budget. Although every day is different for me food-wise, here is an example of what a typical day of eating looks like.

My daily calorie target depends on how much activity I've done that day. If I've worked out and walked 10,000 steps, my calories will be closer to 1,500-1,600 a day. If I skipped a workout and laid on the couch all day (hello, hungover Sundays), my calorie target is closer to 1,200-1,300 a day. Here is an example of a day where I had a moderate workout:

Breakfast: protein smoothie (430 calories)

1 scoop Vega One All-in-One Nutritional Chocolate Shake (170 calories)

1/2 banana (52 calories)

1 tablespoon Perfect Keto Pure MCT Oil (130 calories)

1.25 cup 365 Organic Almond Milk Unsweetened (50 calories)

1 cup baby spinach (7 calories)

3 flowerets of raw cauliflower (9 calories)

3 giant frozen strawberries (12 calories)

Lunch: breaded chicken breast with quinoa and broccoli (405 calories)

3 ounces chicken breast (175 calories)

1/4 serving 365 Everyday Value Whole Wheat Bread Crumbs (25 calories)

1 teaspoon olive oil (40 calories)

1/2 cup cooked quinoa (111 calories)

1 cup roasted broccoli (54 calories)

Afternoon snack: almonds and collagen water (180 calories)

17 Blue Diamond Gourmet Almonds, Rosemary and Sea Salt (120 calories)

Vital Proteins Collagen Beauty Water, Strawberry Lemon (60 calories)

Dinner: baked salmon with quinoa and broccoli (397 calories)

3 ounces cooked salmon (195 calories)

1/2 cooked quinoa (111 calories)

1 cup steamed broccoli (55 calories)

1 pat of butter (36 calories)

Daily total calories: 1,412

On this day, I did a pretty good job of loading up on mostly green foods, a nice amount of yellow foods, and limiting my red foods. I know some of my diet staples are red (like MCT oil and almonds), but I'm going to keep eating them - I just pay attention to the portion sizes.

I tend to eat the same things over and over, which is one way people find weight-loss success: it takes the guesswork out of having to plan so many meals each week. I also try and meal prep on Sundays, and on this particular day, I made big batches of quinoa in the rice cooker and broccoli (both steamed and oven-roasted) to last for lunches and dinners. I also baked breaded chicken breasts for lunch and salmon fillets for dinner to get my protein in.

My protein smoothie can sometimes be my biggest meal of the day. I make a calorie-dense smoothie like this after my big morning workout to refuel my body and keep me full well until my late lunch. Sometimes I need to supplement with a mid-morning snack, but most days I'm satisfied until 2 p.m. or so.

If I have a day where I know I'm going to be getting drinks after work or want to make room for a delicious chocolate chip cookie from the break room, I make adjustments in my diet the rest of the day. Maybe I'll skip the MCT oil in my smoothie or forgo an afternoon snack. Sometimes I'll trade in my quinoa at lunch for double the veggies or leave out the butter on top. Every little tweak or adjustment counts toward my daily calorie target. And while I didn't reach for something sweet after dinner on this day, I usually have some type of dessert each day that's less than 100 calories: a square of dark chocolate or a dark chocolate peanut butter cup from Trader Joe's.

I have never felt deprived doing Noom and I always listen to my hunger cues. Noom has really opened my eyes to what an accurate portion size is and how to plan your meals around your daily calorie target. I still have a little ways to go to hit my goals, but tracking everything in Noom makes it easier.

Weight loss story: Black patches started developing on my skin because of my weight – Times of India

While a lot of people understand the importance of changing the lifestyle in order to get fit, not everyone has the strength to follow through. On the day 27-year-old Manadeep Ganguli released that he needed to lose all the extra kilos and get healthy, he decided to revamp his lifestyle.Instead of following a strict diet or a strenuous workout regime, he proved that making small but effective tweaks in your daily routine can help you get back in shape. Want to know the lifestyle habits that helped him lose a massive 33 kilos? Read on.Name: Manadeep GanguliOccupation: Consultant

Age: 27 years

Height: 5 feet 9 inches

City: Pune

Highest weight recorded: 110 kgs

Weight lost: 33 kgs

Duration it took me to lose weight: 10 months

The turning point: I was pretty lazy as I did not indulge in any physical activities and did not have any hobbies as well. To top it all, I was a hardcore foodie! As a result, I slowly became overweight and then sadly shifted to the obese category by the time I passed out of B-school.

While I did not care about my growing weight initially, I slowly saw that dark patches were developing around the side of my eyes, neck and wrists. I had read in certain articles that it could be a sign of very high cholesterol levels in the body. That served as a much-needed wakeup call as I could clearly see the impact of my growing weight on my skin. Since that day, I never looked backed and completely changed my unhealthy lifestyle and dietary habits.

My breakfast: 1 plate poha and 1 cup green tea.

My lunch: Protein biscuits and 4 egg whites

My dinner: Boiled chicken 150 grams

Pre-workout meal: Mousambi juice (without sugar) 250 millilitres

Post-workout meal: Murmure or dry chiwda

I indulge in: I look forward to eating mutton biryani and my favourite ice cream

My workout: 10 kilometres of brisk walking every day and dumbbell curls (500 reps)

Low-calorie recipes I swear by: Onion uttapam, brown rice pulav and probiotic yoghurt.

Fitness secrets I unveiled: If you really want to lose weight, you have to understand that lifestyle change is the key to any transformation. So, whether it is eating on time or catching enough shut-eye, they all help in boosting your metabolism and subsequently, pave the way for a healthy weight loss.

How do I stay motivated? There is nothing more motivating than looking at my old photographs and comparing how far I have come.

How do you ensure you dont lose focus? The beauty of a changed lifestyle is that you really don't have to push yourself every day to stay focused. So, for me, the right diet, staying active and sleeping on time have all become a part of my daily routine.

Whats the most difficult part of being overweight? Without any speck of doubt, it is underconfidence It affects your mentality and as a result, you don't communicate well which impacts your professional life as well. When you are underconfident, you feel like a fish out of water at any social gathering and just wish to stay away from the crowd.
