Feeling good and looking good go hand-in-hand for a group of local ladies and they want to send this message to the younger generation.

The mantra has been circling the minds of countless woman since Okotokian Vicki Stride put her fitness company Inspired Fitness and Personal Training and her fitness challenges to the test.

Stride said the Building a Legacy challenge means more than just losing weight. She recommends losing weight the healthy way and her program pushes the importance of good self-esteem and body image.

So many moms dont want to create a stigmas for their young daughters, Stride said.

Constantly stepping on a scale and trying to lose weight wasnt the image she wanted to portray to her family.

Society has so much of that already, she said.

The fitness leader said shes already experienced a lot of positive feedback from mothers involved in her fitness program.
