Fit And Well: Beatz Fitness – KSN-TV

I took a fun trip out to McPherson, Kansas, to the Mt. Hope Sanctuary House to learn about the important impact they have on people's lives and helping them get back on their feet! First, I spoke with Mark Hassman, the owner of Hassman Termite & Pest Control to hear about why they are a huge supporter of the Mt. Hope Sanctuary House. I then had the chance to chat with Julie Holloway, who is the Executive Director of the house, to learn more about the resources they provide for people. Julie explained that they are a transitional home for women and children in the event that they find themselves homeless. They can then apply and come live at the house until they are ready for the next chapter in their life. They have a couple of different programs people can apply for. They have a shorter program called Rise, which stands for renew, inspire, succeed, and engage. That's roughly a 60-day program to help them find a job or build up a bit of savings. There is also a longer-term program that helps them become more self-sufficient and they get a life coach to be more hands on to help them get back on their feet. Lastly, we touched upon their event Taco Tuesday which they have coming up on September 29th in McPherson. This is a really important fundraiser for the house as they had to cancel all of their fundraising events in the spring. If you want to learn more information about Mt. Hope Sanctuary or want to contribute, you can visit their website at: http://mthopesanctuary.org
